Yemen was attacked overnight.  The Houthis were the target. Civilians and children are dead.    The reason is that the Houthis decided to re-institute their successful naval blockade of ships carrying cargo for Israel, until such time that the siege and blockade on Gaza ends – Siege for Siege.

Details of actual Yemenis killed and massacred are still pouring in.

But no matter—we have a peace president in the West, reportedly. (As Zelenski pretends to be a president, this president pretends to be a peace president.)

This reminds me of the time, during this president’s first administration, where he informed Xi Jinping over ‘beautiful chocolate cake’, that he had just ordered strikes into Syria.  Xi Jinping did not applaud.

However, a small worm turned and Mr.Lavov plunged in the Yemeni Jambiya.   The bolded part was in general not reported by the media:

During the discussion, Marco Rubio informed him of the US decision to launch a military operation against the Houthi forces in the Red Sea region.

Sergey Lavrov, in response to the arguments by the American representative, stressed the need for all Parties to immediately cease the use of force and the importance for all Sides to engage in political dialogue so as to find a solution that would prevent further bloodshed.

The officials also discussed specific aspects of implementing the mutual understanding reached at the meeting (https://t.me/MFARussia/23858) of senior Russian and US officials in Riyadh on February 18.

Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio agreed to maintain contact.

This little worm spoke clearly to the US plea for Russia to ‘spare the combatants’ in encirclement in Kursk, and this is not a false equivalency.  This ‘ceasefire malarky’ is designed to impose Minsk3 conditions on Russia and is a desperate attempt to leave behind a nazi banderite enclave in whatever may be left of Ukraine.  It is interesting to note that Maria Zakharova stated that reports that Russia has lifted sanctions against US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are fake news.

At least 15 innocent Yemenis, many of them women, and children, were killed, and dozens more were wounded when American and British warplanes unleashed a brutal bombing campaign on #Yemen overnight.  (Note, the death toll and injuries are much higher now, as the dust has hardly settled.  The latest is that the number of martyrs from the American airstrikes on Yemen has risen to 31, with 101 injured.)

Homes were obliterated, families torn apart, and entire communities were left in ruins, all while the world watched in silence.

From Sanaa to Saada, from Marib to Dhamar, U.S. bombs rained down on Yemeni towns and villages.

In Saada alone, four children and a woman were killed when their home was reduced to rubble.

In another airstrike, Bedouin families were targeted, wiping out their livestock in an act of collective punishment.

This was not about “defense” or “freedom of navigation”. This was a calculated attack on a nation that dared to stand with #Palestine and #Lebanon while Zionist #Israel committed #genocide in #Gaza and war crimes in Lebanon.

Washington is making an example out of Yemen. The U.S. is punishing an entire people for resisting Israeli aggression, for refusing to bow to Western hegemony, for standing in solidarity with the oppressed.

And to send the ultimate message, America made sure to launch this massacre during the holy month of #Ramadan, a time of peace and reflection for Muslims worldwide.

The message? To the U.S., no holiness, no sanctity, no sacred time or place matters if it stands in the way of its imperial interests.

This is just the beginning. U.S. officials have already made it clear that these strikes will continue for days, maybe even weeks.

The question is: how many more innocent lives will be lost before the world wakes up?

The US High Level Trumper talking heads immediately started blaming Iran.  This may turn out to be the eventual casus beli where the message can be massaged and the narrative can be shaped to justify an attack on Iran.  “Godspeed to our killers warriors”, says Pete Hegseth.

Many comments are flowing from the Yemenis and from Iran.

Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Major General Hossein Salami:  We reject Trump’s accusations against us regarding Yemen, and we have always stated that the Yemeni people are a free and independent nation that pursues independent national policies.  The United States has not learned the historical lesson that war is not a solution to its problems.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry: The aggression by the United States and Britain against Yemen supports the genocide of the Palestinian people.

From Yemen:

A Yemeni military official stated: Despite the ongoing aggression against Yemen, no Israeli ship has passed through the declared operational area since the blockade was implemented until now.

A Yemeni military official stated: “Ten years ago (March 26, 2015), they believed that subduing Yemen would take two weeks, at most three months. Months turned into years, and now we are completing a decade without Yemen being subdued. Today, it seems that the same belief lingers among some of them, and just as their expectations were disappointed in the past, they will undoubtedly be disappointed again.

There was an interesting comment by Thomas Massey, one of the more popular US politicians:

But no worries, world. We have a peace president in the West (reportedly).  Despite the reported differences, the UK enthusiastically takes part in the bomb-dropping party, like an ‘affectionate dog at their owner’s feet.’  If this is not a continuance of the US agenda, I cannot think of what it is.   It is a pity that the gorge rises when we see how the word ‘peace‘ is now being used to overshadow the previous rallying cry of ‘democracy and freedom.’  Apparently, we have to eat beautiful chocolate cake when we contemplate the broken bodies.
