Fascinating: Russia and DeepSeek

DEEPSEEK: THE GHOST OF THE SOVIET UNION HAUNTS SILICON VALLEY

Turns out DeepSeek, the AI titan shaking up the tech world, wasn’t born in Beijing boardrooms or Silicon Valley labs. It was built on the forgotten code of the Soviet Union.

“I won’t lie, our AI was created on the basis of Soviet developments – the OGAS system of Academician Glushkov,” admitted project manager Liang Wenfeng.

Without it? No DeepSeek. No AI revolution. No competition with ChatGPT.

The West poured billions into AI, while Russia’s intellectual gold was auctioned off for a measly $15,000 in 1995. Now, that “worthless” code is the backbone of the very tech-shaking American dominance.

History’s irony?
The Soviets may have lost the Cold War, but their ideas are winning the digital one.

Soviet science never died. It’s still going strong. If you haven’t, I suggest reading this, “Plenary Session of the Future Technologies Forum at Moscow’s World Trade Centreas it supports my contention.

The Americans and self-styled “Free World” will never admit this, but what this development may imply is that Communism beats Capitalism. 😉

yes and it kind of begs the question did the US steal Soviet tech in the first place?

And becoming increasingly difficult to deny wouldn’t you say? As I read it what we have come to call “communism” is really an unprecedented adventure into the deep culture of unity. Which would naturally appeal to civilizational states. What AHH calls the “Babylonian system” is a good name for the… Read more »

I think that’s a rather overstretched inference. How about the conclusion that creativety doesn’t lend itself to be measured in money?

“Now, that “worthless” code is the backbone of the very tech-shaking American dominance.” ????

What on earth is that line supposed to mean?

Isn’t DeepSeek the potential nemesis rather than the “backbone”, and a precursor of yet another massive bubble all set to rupture spectacularly?

In every way, military, intellectual, economic, diplomatic, and increasingly moral and technological, the paths are paved in yellow brick for the Russian Orthodox Century. Hand in hand with the other civilizational-states.  Millennia before Edgar Cayce, Scripture prophesied the coming leadership of worldly affairs by the Russian Mir. It takes our… Read more »
