BRICS countries: Media on this US election day

A quick look through the media of the original five BRICS countries :

Russia:  English media – RT and Sputnik – Early in the day, wall to wall above the fold election coverage.  It looks more normal now.

Tass – normal coverage with a little election coverage – just a tad.

Russian language media – Ria Novosti, not a lot of election coverage.  An explainer page as to how the US elections work.

South Africa – Just a little.  They are sour on Trump and say Trump called African countries ‘Shithole’ countries (which he did) and Africa was never brought up as an election issue.  So why should they care?  And that is true.  As far as I know, there were no discussions on Africa.  There is the issue of the trade agreement, Aloa, and uncertainty about continuation.  They don’t take sides but there is a clear bias for Harris.

India:  Checked three English medias and wall to wall coverage above the fold.  Indian media is usually hysterical but I did not see a bias.

China: I checked two medias – a little coverage but it is all systems go in China itself.  They are not really interested and we see Chinese news.

Brazil: Not much coverage but what there is say Brazil is apprehensive and Lula called support for Harris.

Iran:  Headline – A choice between two deranged warhawks who cheer genocide in Gaza.  Nothing much more.

The resistance factions in West Asia have illustrations of a voting card and how to write in a vote:  Sayed Ali Khamenei

The Ukrainians are praying that:  “‘Antichrist Trump’ does not win”

Sorry Americans, despite the heated campaign rhetoric, It looks like most of the world (English Media) is simply not interested.

the coverage in Canada is very intense, and in the mainstream media, it is completely pro Kamala. A while back, an expert pointed on a Canadian outlet out that Democrats have not been the best allies for Canadian business, and they have essentially been very underhanded about it, whereas Trump’s… Read more »
