Lula: The dirty trick that we missed

Years ago, when Lula won the Brazilian election, we all hoped that we had a partner in the philosophy of BRICS.

We knew Bolsonaro and we understood that he was glued to the west.  We thought we knew Lula, and as early warning signs appeared, we kept hoping and held on to hope.  So many times did we say in combination here on GlobalSouth, that we will allow Lula the time to show what he is.  Now we know our trust was misplaced.

But what happened?

It’s a simple trick.  The west supported both Lula as well as Bolsonaro.  As they try to appoint presidents for other countries and create color revolutions, this trick was quiet, almost invisible, and we now need to add it to our list of western tricks.

The West quietly supported Lula, and he quietly accepted that support. His first visit after his election to the US should have been a major sign that all was not ‘kosher’. Yet, for myself, I reasoned that he was trying to bring in money and start a fund to support the rainforest, giving Lula all the benefit of the doubt.

This is now added to my list of assessing color revolutions as this lil’ trick fooled most of us.  We fell for the psyops.   We had a commentator at the time who tried to tell us this, and we did not buy it.   So, we went long on affording time for Lula, and lost our investment.

Now you are probably asking:  Why were we so gullible?

What makes this loss for the multipolar and multinodal world understandable, is to integrate the knowledge that the adversary is warring on every domain of life, but clandestinely and with plausible deniability where possible, so that the public does not recognize it as such.

The war against BRICS (and SCO and ASEAN and CELAC etc) is on and will show itself after the US elections.  A warning was given in Peru by bringing in US troops, supposedly for security at the APEC summit.  Not many troops, only 600 reportedly, but they are not there for fighting, but rather to impose influence.   This is going to be a nerve-wracking war and will roll out as the Ukraine war grinds to a halt and the war is on for West Asia.  We have discussed the Peru issues frequently.  Do a search for Peru, and the history is on the site.  The beginnings:

SOUTHCOM Chief Aims to Increase Imperialist Plunder of Latin America’s Resources

U.S. Southern Command Chief Laura Richardson has expressed interest in lithium and other natural resources in South America. It shows the country’s commitment to corporate profits at the expense of workers, Indigenous people, and the environment.  “She frames the strategic resources of the region as a matter of “national security” for the United States, for which the country must “step up [its] game” against adversary powers.”  https://www.leftvoice.org/southcom-chief-aims-to-increase-imperialist-plunder-of-latin-americas-resources/

And if you find all this difficult to integrate, and you think Lula will come around even after its sneaky traitorous undermining of Venezuela as a Brics Partner, here is another example that the Lula administration is no longer our friend.

A Brazilian court has ordered renowned journalist Breno Altman, who has frequently denounced Israel’s genocidal war against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, to pay a fine and delete a number of his posts on social media platforms.

The leader of every country has a price at which he will sell out his countrymen. This pic of Lula and Blinky looks like the price was one billion dollars a year for his servitude. It’s a billion for Lula, and the cost to the US is the cost of… Read more »

Now we know our trust was misplaced.- – Yes it was ! Both China & Russia should kick Brazil out of BRICS forthwith.Keeping Brazil in is stupid! It’s like having a Cuckoo in your nest – they destroy! Too much depends on having a team who think alike. Time to… Read more »

Why would you think an ideologue like Lula would be an exception? Ideology and its true believers always take their followers to dead ends, and if in power, to forms of tyranny. Always. The reason Russia rose, no ideology. Plenty of various kinds begging for installation, but Putin eschewed them.… Read more »

“Ideology and its true believers always take their followers to dead ends, and if in power, to forms of tyranny.” Tell me – does this proclamation apply to both Trumpism and Democratism too then? IMO, Trump and Harris fight a very close race in terms of economic idiocy, and who… Read more »

I have to put my hand – Lula had me fooled that he was indeed from the genuine grassroots left. Perhaps he started off as such, but he is obviously hugely compromised now. As Emerson states, we need to remove the B from BRICS. Sadly we must accept that Uncle… Read more »

Colin, Lula had me fooled too. Lula springs up like “a jack in the box”. BRICS require a set of rules. Members need to show respect and friendliness and be like-minded. Has Brazil breached the atmospherical integrity of BRICS could be put to a members vote. Lula should be made… Read more »

The important thing is that the mask has fallen. The actions of Brazil against Venezuela have made it clear to the global majority that this country is not part of the project. There is no way Brazil should hold the next BRICS Summit. Unless Lula is a mastermind double agent,… Read more »
