Daily Chronicles – Previous

A reminder, Daily Chronicles sifts out the most important and sometimes interesting in our world today. It is not meant to be an overview of ‘the daily news, as the selection is toward those issues that have the potential to change our world.

“We’ve got a genocidal empire to bring down and a multipolar world to build in an atmosphere of schizophrenia, ignorance, unawareness, confusion, greed, anger, jealousy, arrogance.”

Our work is focused on the anti-human systems that have to go, to be replaced by more straightforward and honest endeavors aimed at growing food worth eating, doing honest trade, healing people, traveling, building places worth living in, creating good technology, and learning useful things.

After a momentous few days, we’re not getting a break!  There also is much glue in the pipes of the information space.  I’ll correct when necessary and say so. Where possible I indicate if data or information is sufficiently confirmed, or not, to accept as true and accurate. Feel free to point out if we’re off base. (Yeah gods and little fishes – I need help – someone who is quick with the internet and can assist in drawing data together. We may just find ourselves in a data balloon if we don’t make sure we hit all the bases. My focus has to be on the world, our earth and multipolarity. As it is, I don’t get to economy and Michael Hudson for example. And a WordPress tech to do tech stuff.)

🔹🔹🔹🔹

– Yes, today we’re getting a little break. Everyone and his or her brother are talking, making videos, commentary, writing and so on. In reality, it is coming to grips with all these issues that plagued us over the past weeks. There are more and deeper questions on the two terrorist attacks on Russia, and the big question is What Is Russia Going to Do. Everyone is being asked to the interview space to attempt to answer that question. The answer is, we will see it when it happens and it is happening. Take a look at Medvedev at SPILF for example.

– The second question is astonishment on the coup in Bolivia. I have a list on X on Central and South American countries – every journalist in the book is on there and it is English and Spanish tweets more or less in balance. Last evening it was a Spanish Ocean – everyone is talking. This is what I learned:

Bolivia Coup and Monroe Doctrine

Many of the Bolivian coup plotters were trained in the infamous “School of the Americas” (SOA) — run by US military in the state of Georgia.

It’s a Cold War-era legacy with a new name of WHINSEC — Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation.

“Brutal regime change and reprisal operations from Haiti to Honduras have been carried out by SOA graduates, and some of the most bloodstained juntas in the region’s history have been run by the school’s alumni.”

“… it became known as “la escuela de los golpes,” or the “school of the coups,” for the sheer number of authoritarian dictators it graduated.

– The next issue that people are grappling with and trying to understand is the Freedom of Julian Assange.  Bear in mind this came from nowhere and was a tremendous surprise for all.

– In Israel and Gaza, the war continues as brutal as ever.  I see no levers there that will be a ‘tremendous surprise for all’.  What is noticeable is when Israeli forces attack a village or an area, they now get soldiers that fight them and there are casualties.

– In the Ukraine, Zelensky is suddenly talking that an agreement has to be reached, as the Ukraine cannot carry on forever.  I don’t think this is real and I don’t think this holds water.  It is only trash talk as all his other talk.  The principle that Russia will end this war on Russia’s terms and in Russia’s timing is still as valid as ever.  The daily killed in action is around 2,000 on the average.

– This is happening more and more:  On 27 June from 10:24 to 10:29, a dangerous rapprochement between the coalition MQ-9 Reaper UAV and the Russian Aerospace Forces Su-35 fight jet on a scheduled flight in the Syrian Aerospace took place at altitudes between 7,000 and 8,000 meters over Es-Suhne in Homs province. The Russian pilot demonstrated high professionalism and took the necessary measures to avoid collision in time.

-On China’s side, they are warning the US a lot, and for the rest, they’re doing commerce.  Their ‘Summer Davos’ has just concluded, highlighting China’s critical role on the global stage.  Experts, and scholars hail the nation’s ‘certainties’ as worldwide risks soar

The first Presidential debate is on in the US today.  Who cares?  If you do, please give us an update in the comments.

This is today.

One has to love it!

China intercepts US military aircraft deploying submarine detectors in the South China Sea — Global Times.  The Coast Guard managed to retrieve and inspect many of the electronics dropped near the Ren’ai Reef.

A Chinese military expert told the Global Times that the US is “Aiming to gather more hydrological data, the US intends to develop digital ocean maps for military purposes and analyze information related to Chinese submarines, posing a serious threat to China’s national and military security.”

(Uhm, destroying undersea cables may be part of this data collection).

🔹🔹🔹🔹

The site where western aircraft were going to be stored, is no more.  Russia took it out.

This morning, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation delivered a group strike by long-range sea-based precision weaponry, Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles at the Ukrainian airfield infrastructure, where Western-made aircraft were planned to be stored.

The goal of the strike has been achieved. All the assigned targets have been engaged.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

It’s been a while since we’ve had some Kadyrov humor.  He is sending two wounded troops in their hospital beds to take proactive measures as Estonia is ready to discuss sending troops to Ukraine.  This man is funny.

Ramzan Kadyrov reacted to the Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine’s statement that her country is ready to discuss sending their troops to Ukraine:

“After reading this news, I urgently contacted my dear brother, commander of the AKHMAT special forces, deputy head of the Main Directorate for Military-Political Work of the RF Ministry of Defense, Apty Alaudinov, so that he could take proactive measures at lightning speed.

I instructed the military general to transfer two of our wounded soldiers in the direction of the Estonian troops, and they should be redeployed in their hospital beds. Don’t give them anything else, let them get trophy weapons, since we know that this terrible Estonian army has a whole pair of rubber boats and six machine guns. We will not bother the rest of the Russian army soldiers.”

An illustration of media that has gone bonkers. The header is: Julian Assange Delivers Speech After Touching Down in Australia

Of course Julian Assange did not deliver a speech and he is probably deathly tired. Nobody expected that he would make a speech. But, the press, even the Russian press, gets it wrong. https://sputnikglobe.com/20240626/julian-assange-delivers-speech-after-touching-down-in-australia-1119135421.html

Oh Noooo!  Double talking double slimy white parasytic worm!  The EU sanctions a raft of Russian publications in the EU space.  Russia says .. OK, two can play that game and sanctions a raft of European publications in Russia as well as sending some EU journalists home. The US spokesperson says Russia cracks down on journalism.  Oh boy the irony is thick enough to cut with a knife. There is no honor here.  Morals are old-fashioned.  There is no inherent value here. They only babble about something that they’ve heard about. It is so good that Julian Assange is free, at home and with his family. Reading the reports this morning, this is not the end of the case.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Stella Assange: “I hope journalists and editors and publishers everywhere realise the danger of the US case against Julian that criminalises, that has secured a conviction for, newsgathering and publishing information that was true, that the public deserved to know. That precedent now can and will be used in the future against the rest of the press. So it is in the interest of all of the press to seek for this current state of affairs to change through reform of the Espionage Act. Through increased press protections, and yes, eventually when the time comes – not today – a pardon.”

Today we celebrate.  Julian is free.  Press Conference:  https://globalsouth.co/2024/06/26/press-conference-by-the-julian-assange-legal-team/

True or False?

BRICS countries have decided by an overwhelming majority to “take a pause” on the issue of admitting new members, Lavrov stated.

What?  No comments?  No guesses true or false?  Uhm …. OK, this is true and published in TASS.

MOSCOW, June 25. /TASS/. BRICS nations have decided to “take a pause’ in terms of admitting new members, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

“By the overwhelming majority, the ten nations decided to ‘take a pause’ with new members to ‘take in’ the new members who have doubled the association,” he said at a meeting with speaker of Belarus’ Council of the Republic, or upper house of parliament, Natalia Kochanova.

“At the same time, we are working on categories of partner countries as stages ahead of a full-fledged membership. We will support our Belarusian friends as a number of other like-minded nations,” Lavrov, who is on an official visit to Minsk, said.

A meeting of the BRICS foreign ministers was held in Nizhny Novgorod on June 10 and 11. This was the first ministerial meeting following BRICS expansion in 2023 when Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE joined Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa as full-fledged BRICS members. About 30 more countries are interested in cooperating with the association in this or that format.

Lil’ BRICS is groaning with growing pains. We wish them wisdom and right action.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Australian television reports that the court case has started.  We hope nothing goes wrong!

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Spokesperson for Gaza Civil Defense report to Al-Jazeera:

⭕️Israeli occupation forces have disparately targeted five displacement camps in less than 48 hours.

⭕️ We cannot deal with the large number of casualties due to resource shortages.

⭕️There are reports indicating many residents missing under the rubble in Al-Tuffah and Shati neighborhoods of Gaza.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Russia slams occupation: Russian UN Rep Nebenzya (https://t.me/TheIslanderNews/14640) calls for end to Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank and an end to the genocide on Gaza, captive release *on both sides*, while also applauding growing worldwide push to recognize Palestinian state.

A number of states reaffirmed their commitment to correct a horrible injustice where one side in 1948 received statehood and the other was deprived of this legal right for 3/4 of a century – Nebenzya.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Occupation Israel has not stopped the wanton killing, bombing and tearing Palestinians apart since last evening. The reporting goes on atrocity by atrocity, more and faster than what I can summarize. The photos again cannot be integrated by a sane person. This is insane and I mean that in a clinical sense. These criminals need muzzles. In addition, according to the latest IPC Acute Food Insecurity Report, over 96% of Gaza’s population, totaling over 2 million people, face high levels of acute food insecurity. This crisis stems from Israel’s use of starvation as a method of warfare, as concluded by a UN investigation.

Israel’s blockade is now causing an unprecedented level of starvation in Gaza, leading to famine in various parts of the Strip.

I will have something posted up later today. Two pieces for now – the first one because I am in the process of posting a good piece about what Turkey is up to:

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan: “Israel continues ethnic cleansing in every sense of the term, daily attempting to steal Palestinian land. We have not and will not remain silent about this.”

US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller says the US cannot assess whether more Palestinian civilians have been killed than militants. There is no Palestinian military – there are only groupings of freedom fighters. As they are complicit in the Ukraine, so they are fully complicit in killing Palestinians. These are vile and animalistic (sub-zoology virii particles) gross profane butchers and torturers.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

This is massive news in terms of technological development, and the hegemon is involved in war games because it is not able to compete or even create something like this. It wants to bring everyone down to its own level of incompetence. Nobody is asking whether China’s Change’e really picked up material from the surface of the moon but yet to today, people are not believing that the US ‘put a man on the moon’.

China’s Chang’e-6 safely returns to Earth with first-ever lunar far side samples

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Those Houthies!   Band of the Year! Hit of the Century!

🔹🔹🔹🔹

I don’ t take this as a full confirmation, however Marwa Osman is an accomplished and experienced journalist:

#CONFIRMED🚨
Russian Air Force has shot down a United States RQ-4 Globe Hawk drone.  (There is nothing else confirmatory anywhere but hope dies last).

If this happened, we will see escalation on some axis or another.

UPDATE:  This is not getting confirmed.  But the shooter and the shootee will not say a word.  We leave this to a ‘don’t know’.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

The Russian Investigative Committee has collected evidence showing that Ukrainian forces downed the Il-76 aircraft carrying Ukrainian POWs over Belgorod using a US-supplied Patriot missile system.

“A criminal probe into the terrorist attack on the Russian Il-76 plane in the Belgorod Region has collected evidence confirming the involvement of Ukrainian forces in that crime,” Investigative Committee Spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko told reporters.

While Ukraine had agreed for an exchange of POWs to take place on the border between the Belgorod and Sumy regions on January 24, the leadership of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate and Ukrainian forces issued an order to destroy the aircraft that carried 65 Ukrainian nationals, she added. According to Petrenko, fragments of Patriot were found at the site of the crash and in one of the bodies.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

EU leaders have agreed to reassign Ursula von der Leyen to the post of head of the European Commission, writes DPA, citing sources.  Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas may take the post of head of European diplomacy, which is currently occupied by Borrell, and ex-Portugal Costa may become the head of the European Council.

Look at the face of Kaja Kallas. I’m beginning to think these are all clones.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Not sure if this is war saber rattling but from Israeli source, they are getting ready to carpet-bomb Beirut to get to Hezbollah and kill their leadership. But the leadership of Hamas seems to be active, leading and effective and they wanted to exterminate them as well first. Hezbollah is the biggest and most effective non-state military in the world and they have the gear and the stones. Beirut is one of the oldest cities in the world.

To the world: you stood stum (stum means add some new fermentation juicde and ferment again another time) and only supplied words while the Gaza atrocity was going on in full force, now we might see it again, this time in Lebanon. These are all in a sense holy grounds.

That is our future according to the devlish hegemonic force loose in our world. They wanna carpet-bomb all of us if we don’t keep quiet, sit still, and take the punishment. They cannot stand us and if we stand up for ourselves and tell of the atrocities, they become schizo-violent. If this continues, should Israel attack Hezbollah or the Lebanon, then Israel has morphed into ISIS.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Julian Assange will travel to the island of Saipan, where he is expected to be released after trial.  Would you believe it, I actually know someone in Saipan.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Again, confirmations are difficult to obtain.  The Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court has issued warrants for the “arrest” of former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov over the situation in Ukraine

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Ouchie in either case!  True or False?

Trump offers Ukraine weapons in exchange for negotiations with Russia – Reuters.

Trump advisers presented a plan to push Ukraine towards peace negotiations with Russia.

If Trump wins the election, Kiev will be informed that obtaining more weapons is possible only if they enter into negotiations. The strategy also involves postponing the issue of Ukraine’s membership in NATO in order to persuade Moscow to engage in dialogue. Trump reacted positively to this plan, the publication notes.

Note: what I wonder, if this is just a smart plan not to provide Kiev any weapons at all.. Cause if they are at war, no weapons provided, if they accept to negotiate, then demilitarization is one of the main Russian conditions.

Seymour Hersh : “I am a prisoner of my sources”, iirc the precise quote.
If journalists were anonymous the credibility of a “story” would transfer to the publisher, or to the State, and become deeply suspect as to motivation.

Could they not form their own BRICS-like organization(s) or join other organizations such as, for example, SCO? In the case of the former, perhaps do it to work on their own agendas, geopolitical, organizational, and administrative. Perhaps there can be cross-fertilization and eventual merger of the two or more organizations.
