The Daily Chronicles are snippets of the most important news across the world for this and each day as it rolls in – as such, this thread is non-structured with the latest news on top.  Kindly feel free to also use it as an open thread.

Russia supplies gas from Siberia to China via a 3.000 km pipeline from the state-owned group Gazprom. Huge Chinese LNG tankers, too big for the Suez Canal, go around the Cape of Good Hope to Europe. Russian gas is now three times as expensive…..

Sunday, January 15

Sometimes one has time for a quiet giggle.  I like Andrei Martyanov but I always laugh when he praises Russia to the rafters and makes a throwaway comment on China.   I don’t see the relationship as a race at all.  So, here I had a quiet giggle when I read this:

After foreign car manufacturers left Russia, Moskvich, which has already started assembling new cars, has every chance to develop the domestic auto industry to a world level.

This was told by video blogger Eric Davidovich in a large review of the Moskvich company, its production and products.

New cars are already being assembled at the Moskvich plant. So far, only Chinese brands, but in a few years, technologies for the production of domestic cars will be accumulated. Experienced specialists who remained in the country will help with this. Similar to how China developed, they will adopt technology to produce their own product.

Already, the cars assembled by Moskvich are cheaper than their Chinese counterparts, the review says. In the future, they may replace taxis and even ambulances in Russia.

The Russian MoD confirmed strikes on Ukraine but gave no details:

On 14 January 2023, a missile strike was launched against Ukraine’s military command and control system and associated energy facilities. All designated targets were hit. The objective of the strike has been achieved.

Saturday, January 14

They, the imperialists, never let go of their colonies.  I’ve seen in the last few days that Britain is still whining about Hong Kong, besides the fact that they’ve had to return Hong Kong and this is now over 20 years, since the return (1997). The thing is really, they have not been able to claw back Hong Kong out of Chinese hands, since the return, so, they are bitter and twisted. Human rights are now like LGBT, like racism, like so-called democracy .. meaningless.  We’re going to have to pry our world out of their cold dead hands.

Saturday, January 14

Reports are streaming in of massive Russian strikes on various positions of Ukraine.  I will wait for the Russian MoD.

Update: Yup!  Major strikes again, but still we wait for the Russian MoD for the details.

Watching paint dry.  I cannot find anything of any critical relevance yesterday through today.  Most intriguing is that this quiet period (don’t get me wrong, a lot of words are flying sometimes fever driven), is a time of revelations.  I keep watching Jeffrey Kaye in utter amazement as I see the same old playbooks being used by the crusaders in what is now becoming a vain attempt at maintaining imperialism.

Brazil?  The USAmerican rightwing is literally vicariously reliving their 6th January via the attempted coup in Brazil.  At this moment, do not accept any USAmerican writing on Brazil as the facts are being twisted to fit their historical replay.  Its theater.  But they are causing untold damage as they are making the task for Brazil to recreate itself more difficult.  This segment of the USAmerican population cannot do anything about their own circumstance, but hey presto!  they can fit their facts around Brazil as if it is a little USA.  Someone should teach them about colonialism.

Same with China.  Be careful what you read about China.  If written by USAmericans, they are in a bloodlust to tear China apart, while trying to come to grips with the fact that they are losing badly on the ground in the Ukraine, and then we do not even mention the greater objectives.

India held a 2-day global south summit.  Here is the best of it culled out from RT India:

Voice of Global South: Most Participants Face Outcomes of Colonialism & Inequities of Current World Order – 🇮🇳EAM Jaishankar

India’s External Affairs Minister has addressed his counterparts at the summit. His main points:

📍 Many Global South countries facing unsustainable debt, unviable projects, great barriers
📍 Discriminatory practices which characterise global discourse and pandemic have added to struggle
📍Overcentralised globalisation is flawed – Global South should work collectively towards a new globalisation paradigm for collective well-being of humankind
📍 Global councils haven’t spared enough attention to food, fuel crisis and disrupted supply chains
📍 UN is a frozen 1945 invented mechanism
📍India will consult with colleagues from Global South during G20 presidency
📍 Young and talented people in Global South countries face obstacles in access to opportunities

This is appearing more and more:

China looks set to build naval base in Argentina, a ‘gateway’ to Antarctica: Reports

“A possible Chinese base in Ushuaia would allow Beijing to have a permanent enclave in the Southern Hemisphere, with a projection toward the South Atlantic, which, depending on the conditions negotiated with Argentina, could allow for the construction of facilities, as well as the presence of naval units and military contingents in this quadrant,” Alberto Rojas, director of the International Affairs Observatory at Chile’s Finis Terrae University, told Diálogo, a digital military magazine published by the US Southern Command.

Thursday, January 12

Medvedev seems to confirm the speculation that Zelensky’s discussion yesterday had to do with a Poland deal.  The public discussion is all about tanks.  Medvedev’s machine translation leaves much to be desired, but the last sentence is the important one.

Three wretched people from Warsaw, Vilnius and Kyiv, suffering from imperial ambitions and phantom pains caused by the history that battered them, gathered in Lvov. And they pray, as it turned out, for tanks. There are all sorts of “Leopards” there, modernized by our enemies T-72, which I spoke about yesterday, some other English illiquid.

All this iron, in any case, will soon become rusty scrap metal and will not save the artificial country that is falling apart.

And in Lvov, which will again bear the name of Lemberg, they met in order to correctly attach the western Ukrainian regions to the new (former) owners.

Wednesday, January 11th

There is a lot of speculation (based on Zelensky’s movements and meetings) that Poland may enter the western Ukraine.  Please note .. speculation and rumors!  I mentioned this as it would change the situation quite massively.

Thursday, January 12

There is a problem at the international space station.  If it is a crisis, I do not know.  Here it is from RT channel:

Russia’s Space Agency Shares Plan For ISS Evacuation

A Russian Soyuz MS-23 craft will travel to the International Space Station (ISS) without a crew so it can be used to evacuate Russian cosmonauts Dmitry Petelin and Sergey Prokopyev, as well as NASA astronaut Frank Rubio from orbit, Roscosmos chief Yury Borisov said on Wednesday.

Petelin, Prokopyev and Rubio, who have been at the station since September, were unable to return home as scheduled because of a coolant leak discovered weeks ago on the Soyuz MS-22 ship. The rising temperatures aboard the spacecraft, docked to the ISS, were quickly stabilized by the crew but the ship was still deemed unsafe to carry the trio back to Earth.

“The State Commission decided to launch the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft on February 20, 2023 in unmanned mode,” Borisov announced, adding that the ship would still be delivering its intended cargo to orbit.

This is why I love humans.  Major trolling .. PMC Wagner marketing salt.

Shamans everywhere!

It is now confirmed that Soledar is under full Russian control with only minor skirmishes.  The musicians, Wagner group was solely responsible for capturing this town with its miles and miles of underground mines.  Soledar is about 20 kilometers from the major city of Artyomovsk, also known as Bakhmut.

Dmitry Polyanskiy has confirmed: “Congratulations to the residents of #Soledar! You waited almost nine years for this day. More cities and towns will be liberated from criminal Kiev regime shortly!”

Analysts are now saying that in this area, the Ukrainian forces are clearly collapsing.   See the Brian Berletic video.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov’s noted these points today in his daily briefing:

  • There are currently no prospects for peace talks with Kiev, due to recent Ukrainian legislation prohibiting such dialogue — as well as pressure from the West
  • The Kremlin has no plans to impose an international travel ban on Russian men
  • The flow of western aid to Ukraine amplifies the country’s pre-existing “corruption malaise”
  • Some in the West are voicing concerns about how Kiev spends foreign aid

Here are the questions and answers given this morning by the Chinese foreign ministry:  https://www.fmprc.gov.cn/mfa_eng/xwfw_665399/s2510_665401/202301/t20230110_11005338.html

What?  No sanctions?  What happened to the sanctions?  They are imploding.

“Russia supported the transit of Kazakh oil via the Druzhba pipeline to Germany.

An application for the transit of 1.2 million tons of Kazakh oil to Germany this year was submitted by Kaztransoil to Transneft on December 29 last year.”

Paul from the Sirius report stated that in the next month or two, Europe will be begging Russia to restart oil and gas supplies.  I don’t know how right he is, but the sanctions regime is crumbling at the edges.
