A Discussion: ¿A dónde vas? or Quo Vadis?
This is our 42 thread – remember Douglas Adams and the Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: Where the Deep Thought computer went away for millions of years to calculate the answer to the question of the meaning of life, the universe and everything.
More updates coming after this day that they call Christmas in certain spheres and is supposed to be a day of joyful celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. In other spheres it is not that. Cctv broadcast this movie at Christmas eve: Korean war: December 24, 1950, is the “Christmas Eve” that belongs to the Chinese people. This is the “Victory Night” of the Volunteer army.
I consider this discussion one of civilizational and personal emotional and heart based questions. But a heart without a head does not beat. So, let’s try to understand some stuff in both the emotional as well as the reasoning spheres. Questions or statements that I picked up, but it may not be all of them as this is top of the head stuff:
- The SMO in Ukraine is a red herring
- Let’s grow some food (my favorite thing!)
- Let’s pay attention and ‘hear’ one another and let me add something there from me … Let’s be kind!
- Some are expecting border closures in the EU
- The jabs
- How to move or exfiltrate
That is about it – feel free to add if I’ve missed something.
There are different ways of reasoning. In general, there are two main methods.
The one is inductive reasoning and the other is deductive reasoning. These are both linear approaches.
So, inductive reasoning is when one takes a whole bunch of obervations and from that, infer or posit a general principle. (This is how I eventually came to understand the SMO, as a war of attrition).
Deductive is the opposite – one works from a stated general principle and then you fit the detail around that. Should the main premise be true, the detail should fit.
Then, from the old days of Aristotle, we get first principle reasoning. The idea is to break down complicated problems into basic elements and then reassemble them from the ground up. This is a non-linear approach and generally consider as a creative path to solutions.
All of these issues are complicated issues and I expect we will need all kinds of reasoning.
Aramynth, I agree, learn about seeds and soil, even growing flowers will give skills you need to grow food. If you live in a Western town or city think of all those on either side in Ukraine who have to leave their homes and find refuge. If this war expands… Read more »

Ama, how long did it take u to learn Spanish?
Oh dear heavens, I’m still learning Spanish. I’m good with the normal stuff, household stuff and everyday living stuff. Spanish is easy to learn to get to that level. But if you get to the guts of language, it is beautiful – and I am not there yet. But, if… Read more »
Re “Well in advance.” I think we r already running late, Archeon. I wish that I had my present day understandings 2y ago. Im thinking we got ~6mo window. That is enuf time to pack some bags but if u got a hse2sell, u may be outta luck.
First .. I am not a good example of how to base an exfiltration or emigration on. In the world where I grew up, became politically aware, and became politically active, eventually, I had to leave, with my family, as I would have been killed. I then decided, I live… Read more »

Great job. Very helpful. But why cant one carry some cash? Do they search you?
Hahahaa SoUtH, you probably have not been flying around too much. There are so many rules that it is easier to just simply not get involved and carry less than 1,000 dollars cash. I pay into credit cards and only take cards with a little cash in my purse. In… Read more »
I have not flown since the 1990’s and have never been out of this country. So your pist here was a real eye opener.
Question: What about crossing the mx border with car? Suppose u have boxes and u moving there. Will they let you pass?

On this issue : The SMO in Ukraine is a red herring I would respectfully add that most of the world sees this for what it is. And it is a re-establishment of Russia (and by definition Europe), security balance. So, I may be used as a red herring and… Read more »
Wow, what a speech! Thk u 4the long quote. What a statesman! Let me clarify what i meant when i used the term, ‘red herring.’ In logic, there are a list of fallacies (errors in reasoning) that, if taken, lead one to draw incorrect conclusions. In logic, it is all… Read more »
