Daily Chronicles
The Daily Chronicles are snippets of the most important news across the world for this and each day as it rolls in. Kindly also use it as an open thread.
We are in the tropics. We don’t have snow and sleighbells and all the traditional Christmas paraphernalia. The image on this post is then our Christmas decoration.
A little news from Brazil – Bolso is running. (I guess running from being arrested by the new Government.)
“Bolsonaro has just announced to allies that he will travel to the US to enjoy New Year’s Eve. In Brasilia, there is a possibility of rain at the turn of the year. That is: while the myth (they mean Bolsonaro) will be with the family in Times Square in New York, the cattle (the protestors) will be at the door of the barracks taking in the rain!”
There are still protestors at the military barracks. And now he has lost all internal support, because they all know he is running.
So, the plans for a new color revolution will surely be made while Bolso is in the US. Bear in mind Lula is legally now the president, but the formal inauguration is on the 1st of January. We have to have the pomp and circumstance.
An update here: And I think I called it exactly right. He is running.
Defeated Jair Bolsonaro will not hand the sash to nemesis Lula da Silva at his inauguration, UOL reports. The fascist will instead depart for a two month stay at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Lula has promised that secrecy orders protecting Bolsonaro will end on Jan 1. (Team Bannon sticks together).
As far as I can figure, Bolsonaro got some laws passed to hide his information for 100 years.
Please tell me this is not real!
With our recent focus on Yemen, this was surprising to see:

There are many meetings with many people. I think in terms of a war description, everyone is maneuvering. The thinking that Russia is preparing a big offensive is still being maintained by many commentators and analysts. I will wait and see. We may however see something very very soon as the Kremlin has announced that an expanded meeting of the Board of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation with the participation of Putin will be held today. Some important announcements are expected to be made there.
UPDATE: Peskov has confirmed that “The president will deliver a very important speech” and he will hold a Security Council meeting.
If you remember, Putin is not giving his usual massive speech and Q&A with the Russian people, traditionally at year-end. This was postponed to January. So, we wait for some major speechifying or action.
UPDATE: And here it starts filtering through: https://thesakeris.global/2022/12/21/putin-and-shoigu-speaks/
Russia and Belarus are coordinating their military into a force that can act as a unit, and Belarus has been supplied with most modern Russian weaponry.
Russia and Belarus, in response to the continuation of joint NATO nuclear missions, strengthen their security and operate within the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the pages of Kommersant about the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the training of the Belarusian Air Force crews on aircraft converted to carry aviation ammunition with a nuclear warhead.
“The measures to ensure the security of the Union State announced during the meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Belarus are a forced reaction to the purposeful development of the long-term practice of the so-called joint NATO nuclear missions and are being implemented in strict accordance with the obligations under the NPT,” Zakharova stressed.
The diplomat explained that it was not about the transfer of technologies for the re-equipment of aircraft to the Belarusian side.
“At this stage, we are talking exclusively about the transfer of dual-equipped Iskander-M complexes with conventional missiles to the Republic of Belarus as well as giving some of the Belarusian Su-25 aircraft the technical ability to carry nuclear weapons. At the same time, there are no plans to transfer the technologies for converting aircraft into carriers of nuclear weapons,” the diplomat noted.
Zakharova also clarified that in the future Moscow and Minsk will “link their steps with the actions of the NATO countries in relation to the Union State,” and in the event of an aggravation, “we reserve the right to take additional measures to ensure the security of Russia and Belarus.”
In conclusion, the representative of the Foreign Ministry recalled that “in any case, the decision on nuclear equipping of these Belarusian systems, and even more so on their hypothetical use, can only be made by the President of Russia.”
Zelensky will be welcomed today by the US Congress. If anyone is watching, it will be cringe on steriods.
The most interesting meeting is this one: Xi Jinping is holding a meeting with Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Medvedev in Beijing.
Medvedev: “We discussed issues of bilateral strategic partnership with China in all areas Including of course the economy, industrial cooperation and much more. These talks were very helpful”
Economically we see more and more integration of systems: Mir cards are now accepted by some partner banks in 9 countries, a representative of the payment system told RIA Novosti and confirmed in one of the major Russian banks. The list now includes Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, South Korea and South Ossetia.
And here is one that I don’t believe will last. The meddling will soon start again, as we see Empire pressing on any and every exposed nerve in our world, in order to pretend its relevancy. President Biden said on the sidelines of a Nov. 4 election rally that the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran is “dead,” but stressed the U.S. won’t formally announce it, according to a new video that surfaced on social media late Monday.
Read MoA’s analysis for details
I came across some nuclear posture and nuclear status analysis.
The 2022 Nuclear Posture Review: Arms Control Subdued By Military Rivalry
It is quite wonderful to see the concept of the leader or the policeman of the world, the concept of empirical supremacy, driving people just bonkers. Check out this guy. He thinks someone is going to obey him.
Peru is still being color revolutionized.
This is why Peru cut relations with Mexico yesterday. Mexico gave asylum to Pedro Castillo’s wife and children.
What harm did the coup regime have planned for them? Evil stuff. https://t.co/JkJ68MY1fV
