Do you blame them?  Putin said they will eat grass before they stop their weapons program.

North Korea Threatens “Automatic & Immediate” Nuke Strike If Provoked

North Korea has issued a document outlining its approach to nuclear warfare, warning it will not hesitate to use the bomb if it perceives threats to its senior leadership or “important strategic targets,” state media has reported.

A statement on the “nuclear force policy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea” was carried by the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Friday, noting that while the government considers nuclear weapons a “last resort,” it would deploy them to prevent “aggression that seriously threatens the security of the state and people.”

The policy document went on to note that Pyongyang would launch a preemptive strike “automatically and immediately” if officials believe “the command and control system for the national nuclear force is in danger due to an attack by hostile forces.”

Mexican President AMLO invited the families of Che Guevara, Julian Assange, Nelson Mandela, and Martin Luther King, as well as Evo Morales and Noam Chomsky to Mexico’s celebration of 212 years of independence next week.  (Oh dear, watch for regime change incoming).

So, the queen died.   A stellar queenly history.  But, I grew up in a colony and realized early on … we are the queen’s subjects.  I have little to say except that I was not a subject then, and I am not a subject of — the new king,

Serbian President Vucic: As for the question about President Putin’s speech, I listened to part of the speech live, in Russian, I think I understand the Russian language well. And I would define it this way: next winter will be very cold, polar for whole of Europe. Since no one wants to look for solutions, as Mr. Erdogan said, in other words, I am afraid that everyone expects the defeat of the other side, they are not looking for a compromise. If you think that you will easily defeat Russia by military means, then all that remains for us to do is to prepare well for the cold and polar winter.

This is actually groundbreaking news, but it does not look like it.  Did you know that there was a climate summit in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on Monday?  Nobody knew really, because the collective west did not turn up.  They simply ignored it, now that they are trying to use wood and various types of coal for winter heating and keeping industries functional.  We’re moving backward yes.  I picked up a news piece stating that chimney sweeps are suddenly a new career and had visions of Oliver Twist.    https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20220905-african-leaders-slam-western-absence-from-climate-summit

Whatever your personal considerations are about climate change, if you are from a colder area in the west, your leaders are playing possums, hiding, and sticking their heads in the sand.

Developing countries receive the minimum from the exported grain. Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok

Western nations lied when they claimed Ukraine needed access to sea shipping to alleviate the surging food prices and risk of famine in poor countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said. Just two ships out of more than 80 that left Ukraine were actually traveling on hunger relief missions.

In addition, earlier Lavrov  accused Western nations of failing to remove secondary restrictions on the export of food and fertilizers from Russia after the Ukraine deal was reached. The UN, which co-signed the agreement with Turkey, pledged to use its clout to have the restrictions lifted.

This made me angry.  Come-on Russia!, it is high time that you put penalty clauses in your contracts spelling out the consequences of counterparties not sticking to agreements.

This is such a Meh!  Not even after the Ukraine admitted that they are shelling the NPP, the IAEA cannot be honest and say so.
Moscow’s UN envoy is disappointed at the IAEA’s refusal to say who is shelling Zaporozhye and its proposed solution

It is regrettable that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would not identify the culprit for the shelling of the Zaporozhye power plant, while its proposal to demilitarize the facility is “not serious,” Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, said on Tuesday.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi personally led a team of inspectors to the Russian-held facility last week, and witnessed an artillery attack firsthand. However, the IAEA report on the visit, published earlier on Tuesday, made no mention of who was shelling the Zaporozhye NPP, even though the Ukrainian General Staff has publicly admitted to targeting nearby Energodar.

RuMod reports that they neutralized AFU units firing at Energodar and the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power plant.

⚠️ Kiev regime continues its provocations at Zaporozhye power plant aimed at creating a possible technological disaster.

◽️ 15 artillery attacks launched at the city of Energodar and Zaporozhye power plant by AFU have been recorded over the past 24 hours.

📊 Ukrainian artillery has launched a total of 20 projectiles, including 3 of them at the nuclear power plant. One of the projectiles has impacted the roof of the special building №1, the second has impacted the area between the special building №1 and the second power generator, the third has exploded near the tankers designed for storaging distilled water near the power plant №2.

💥 The fire was being conducted from Ukrainian positions deployed near Marganets (Dnepropetrovsk region). AFU units have been neutralised by a counter-attack launched by Russian artillery.

◽️ The radiation environment at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant remains normal.

From Pepe Escobar:  I just followed an immensely engrossing roundtable on the SCO at the Vladivostok forum – so rich it will be quite a challenge to select the best quotes. Same for stretches of another one on multipolarity. Next is Russia-Vietnam. The contrast with the Empire-engineered debacle of Europe could not be starker. Vladivostok is analyzing THE FUTURE.

I am doing the same thing .. and the commenting and presentations are top class!  I will start commenting on it sometime today and look forward to Pepe’s writing.

This day’s comment by Peskov

“Most likely, a huge global storm is starting,” Peskov warned in an interview with Tass on Monday.  In many ways, there are objective reasons for that, but there are also subjective reasons for this beginning storm, which are linked to absolutely illogical and often absurd decisions and actions of the authorities in the US, Europe, the EU and individual European countries,”

The comment from Peskov is just in time and we have a first hand example.  Liz Truss becomes the new UK prime minister.  Comments?

Maria Zakharova commented: ” Hey you Tartar get lost, now us the Mongols will invade! ”  The “brilliant” British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that Ukraine has experienced many invasions – “from the Mongols to the Tatars.”  Her words in an ironic tone were commented by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova:

“How many years passed between the two invasions: the Mongols and the Tatars? And which college issued her a degree ??? ”  *Tartar-Mongolian invasion is one single event and they were one single tribe.

Pepe Escobar weighed in: “Welcome to Dumb as F**k Britannia.  And run for cover.”

On Sunday, state media reported that Li Zhanshu, chairman of China’s legislature (NPC), is packing for a rare trip abroad, from September 7 to 17.

At the kind invitation of his counterparts, Li will visit Russia, Mongolia, Nepal, South Korea, and will attend the 7th Eastern Economic Forum, an annual Vladivostok gathering to boost foreign investment in the Russian Far East.

Why is this a big deal?  Ranked No. 3 in the Party hierarchy, where he is a current member of the seven-man Politburo Standing Committee (PBSC), Li will be the highest ranking official to travel outside China since the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020.

Beijing remains very much aligned with Moscow.

With Truss now at the helm of Perfidious Albion the entire world just became a much more dangerous place. This creature looks and acts for all the world like she just escaped from a maximum security lunatic asylum. I regard her, along with Victoria Nuland as being an outrageous risk… Read more »
