Why did China allow Nancy Pelosi to visit Taiwan?
The upside of that visit was too large, too big to ignore. At stake are the legitimate reasons for a first phase of decoupling.
On the quick takes and the longer takes in our sphere of pundits, we saw basically two stances. 1) China is a paper tiger and 2) China would act at the time of their own choosing. In our sphere, the quick commenters had no Chinese input to back up their quick comments. These were short sighted as China indeed acted on Nancy’s incursion and there is no paper tiger about it.
In the collective west, there is little understanding of the legal situation between China and Taiwan. It is a a frozen war. China’s constitution demands a re-unification. Re-unification is constitutional and the alternative is to go to war against Taiwan. Kindly look at a map and see the ludicrousness of this. Taiwan is an island that would not stand against Chinese military might for more than a few hours. And do you really think Australia or the whole AUKUS team will go to kinetic war against China?
There was a little gossip that filtered out from the depths of the SMO in the Ukraine. Bear in mind, this is reported as gossip but I do believe that it has relevance. This gossip was that Chinese Troops trained with certain segments of the Allies in the Ukraine to learn how to clear out unfriendly forces in an urban environment. Bear in mind, only gossip!
China is in a much better position now, than before this visit. Come into my parlor, said the Chinese thinkers. If any Chinese person still thought that the meddling by the collective west into Taiwan is just not important, it is now clear for the Chinese person in the street that the plan is to use Taiwan to meddle! To find pretext to attack China in any domain.
So, what did China do. First, they blockaded Taiwan militarily and started a barrage of shooting across the straits and across Taiwan. The oft-quoted Air Identification Zone (half of which stretches over mainland China and is a collective western distraction) is now history. China demonstrated that they can blockade Taiwan at a moment’s notice, take Taiwan militarily or otherwise, and they gave their own military a very good workout, much more real than military games.
From August 4 to August 7, 2022, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army conducted military exercises and training activities, including live-fire drills in the following maritime areas and their air space.
Do you think these strike zones were chosen randomly? Do you think there may have been submarines lying quietly in some of these strike zones? No, never! Surely there could not have been US subs lying around and checking things out, could there?
Now that the US appetite for costly Middle-East wars is over, how do they feed their Military Industrial Complex? With the reactions of China on Pelosi’s incursion, perhaps not on China’s back as 170 Nations confirmed that they stand rock solid behind China’s policy of One Country, Two Systems.
World Order Z has spoken once again – clearly for China. The Decoupling and the multipolar world are in step.
China’s reactions supported all of us in World Order Z. The region is thanking China for keeping the region peaceful and for containing the problem where it should be, on Taiwan, and in the USA.
The investment climate for Taiwan plummeted
Sand and Fruit and Vegetables from Taiwan were sanctioned. Taiwan does +-50% of their trade with the Chinese mainland and significant amounts to other Chinese Territories. Sand? Get it? Chips are made of silicon, and silicon is a type of sand. Taiwan is an island and does not have much silicon sand. The Chinese mainland does.
China turned up the fire underneath the Taiwanese. The Taiwanese want stability more than anything else and the rift between the approximately 30% secessionist and the average Taiwanese is growing. The fruit and vegetable growers that lost their market in one fell swoop are not very happy. The Taiwanese are beginning to understand the message that the current hegemonic incursion is simply to take their chips and whatever else that they can. The idea of being an island ‘aircraft carrier’ for use of the collective west is also being seeded in Taiwanese minds. And they don’t like it!
The Lady Pelosi does not know whether she is speaking about Taiwan, or about China in her post visit interviews.
Two out of three US voters can’t locate Taiwan – or Ukraine on a map. Even though media coverage of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan managed to reach 71% of the American electorate, a survey conducted after Pelosi’s visit showed only 34% could point the island out on a map

China has published a new white paper on Taiwan, stating that they can take them by any means and at any time of China’s choosing, but that they still prefer peaceful integration.
China is busy with China and Belt and Road and will keep the Taiwan issue simmering until they decide to act.
In addition, China took countermeasures and halted communication with the US on eight tracs:
1.Canceling China-U.S. Theater Commanders Talk.
2.Canceling China-U.S. Defense Policy Coordination Talks (DPCT).
3.Canceling China-U.S. Military Maritime Consultative Agreement (MMCA) meetings.
4.Suspending China-U.S. cooperation on the repatriation of illegal immigrants.
5.Suspending China-U.S. cooperation on legal assistance in criminal matters.
6.Suspending China-U.S. cooperation against transnational crimes.
7.Suspending China-U.S. counternarcotics cooperation.
8.Suspending China-U.S. talks on climate change.
Conversation with the collective west on these tracs is of no benefit to China. That’s why they stopped. But you all know the saying, talk talk is better than war war. China has made it very clear that the talk talk is a waste of time.
In addition there is a wave of Chinese delistings from the NYSE.

Taiwan’s KMT has sent a delegation to China to offset cross strait tensions. We have not seen much press about this.
The Chinese Ambassador to Russia weighed in and he is on a roll:
– The Empire of Lies is “the initiator and chief arsonist of the Ukraine crisis”.
– US hegemony and power is the “greatest challenge to progress and the peaceful development of human civilization”.
And of course…
…Taiwan is an integral part of China: “Today’s China is not the China of one hundred years ago, which was poor and weak, and let others decide its fate”.
If Pelosi really cares about democracy and human rights, then she better visit Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya, where she can express remorse for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians at the hands of the US military, says the Chinese Foreign Minister Wenbin.
